FSMA Walk and Roll

The Chesapeake chapter of Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy held its 2nd annual Walk and Roll on Saturday, April 26th at Old National Pike Park in Mt. Airy, MD. The walk was attended by over 200 people.  On The Go Markets catered the event  and music was provided by DJ Alfie Aldave. Over $20,000 was raised. For families who have children that have been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, it was a wonderful day to get together, meet new friends and talk to other families whose children also are affected by SMA . Our Little Jewels thank all those who attended and made the Walk and Roll a very successful event.

OLJ Spring Fundraiser Finale

Our 2014 spring fundraiser was held at Kelsey’s Irish Restaurant on Thursday, April 17th, 2014. We set a goal of $15,000. The event raised $14, 825 with Kelsey’s donation forthcoming. Live music was provided by Brendan Pelan and Chick Hall. Btween 200 and 250 people attended throughout the evening. Raffle winners were drawn at 10PM. Many thanks to the staff at Kelsey’s for making the evening a wonderful success.

Raffle prize winning tickets were drawn at 10PM. The winners were as follows: Rocco’s Dinner for ( 6)-Lisa Roeder, Ravens Football-Michael O’Connell, Redskins Football-Susan Smith, Orioles Baseball-Jim Hampson, 43″ Samsung TV-Tina Wehland, GoPro Camera-Spencer Cavalier, Irish Print-Tom Booth, Sterling Silver Necklace-George Beserock, Disney Word Park Hopper Passes-Dennis Reitz, Scittino’s Dinner for (6)-Gale Clark, Basket of Cheer-Tricia Morano, Irish Basket of Cheer-Paige Ford, Gift Box of Fine Wine-Tina Wehland, Rocco’s Basket of Homemade Wine-George Beserock.

Thanks to all who attended and made the evening another true success. Special thanks to all of the volunteers who handled the raffle ticket table throughout the evening and to all who donated items for the spring fundraiser.
