Our 8th annual spring fundraiser has begun. The finale will be held at Kelsey’s Irish Restaurant in Ellicott City on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 from 6-10PM. The finale will consist of live music by Brendan Pelan, your favorite tunes by DJ Alfie Aldave, raffle drawings, good food and fine drinks. Between 200-300 people are expected to attend throughout the evening.  Kelsey’s will donate 10% of your bar and meal tab  to Our Little Jewels.  The proceeds from the spring fundraiser will be used to fund programs that provide activities for disabled children.

 
Family Friendly Research Poster Session at The 2014 Annual Spinal Muscular Atrophy Conference.

At the 2014 Annual SMA Conference, the second Family Friendly Research Poster Session was held. During the event, 31 research groups presented their scientific findings, including 10 different SMA drug programs. The unique event allowed for one-on-one interactions among the 1400 families and researchers in attendance to share information. Both the scietinsts and families seemed to really value the opportunity.

The Chesapeake chapter of Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy held its 2nd annual Walk and Roll on Saturday, April 26th at Old National Pike Park in Mt. Airy, MD. The walk was attended by over 200 people.  On The Go Markets catered the event  and music was provided by DJ Alfie Aldave. Over $20,000 was raised. For families who have children that have been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, it was a wonderful day to get together, meet new friends and talk to other families whose children also are affected by SMA . Our Little Jewels thank all those who attended and made the Walk and Roll a very successful event.
